We currently have an opening for a full-time permanent Stores Lead Hand based in Abbotsford, British Columbia, Canada.

Reporting to the Stores Crew Lead, the Stores Lead Hand is responsible for providing technical direction, coaching and guidance to store employees as well as supervisory assistance.  Responsible for the daily duties within Stores, the Stores Lead Hand will be expected to operate independently using judgment in determining priorities and problem solving.  Situations of an unusual nature will be referred to the Stores Crew Lead.
In this role your duties will include the following:
  • Provide a positive and safe work environment by demonstrating sound leadership skills;
  • Actively promote Conair Vision and Values;
  • Ensure tasks are carried out as assigned and within Quality guidelines;
  • Take ownership of production workflow and any special projects, ensure adequate material, manpower and equipment are available when needed; keep stores Crew Lead informed of progress;
  • Assists with the supervision and direction of crewmembers; ensures a high level of productivity is maintained, workload is distributed equitably.  Assists in trouble shooting problems that arise;
  • Action priorities assist/provide on the job training to stores employees;
  • Ensure workplace is maintained in a clean, organized and safe manner;
  • Be a working member of the crew;
  • On-call duties as required
We are looking for someone with:
  • Knowledge of procedures and skill in performing all aspects of duties related to Stores such as but not limited to receiving, shipping, cycle count, logistics;
  • Knowledge of Quality program and procedures as it relates to Stores;
  • Knowledge of and ability to use leadership techniques, including the ability to establish standards of work, provide coaching and motivation for staff, establish goals and KPI’s;
  • Ability to communicate with and interact in a constructive manner with all levels of the Company in order to achieve department and Company goals, explains processes to staff;
  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office products (Excel, Word, Outlook);
  • Commitment to personal professional development with a recognized supply chain management association. (APICS, PMAC or equivalent) is an asset.
Training/Education:
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in related area.  Solid understanding of responsibilities and procedures within Stores area;
  • Previous experience as a Coordinator, Crew Chief role is an asset;
  • As a minimum completion of Grade 12.
